The fit scores and the underlying school data on SweetSpot are provided for informational purposes only. They are not a recommendation, endorsement, or guarantee of any school's quality, safety, or suitability for your family.

All school data is sourced from publicly available California Department of Education datasets — primarily the School Accountability Report Card (SARC) and the Public Schools Directory. SweetSpot does not use GreatSchools data or any other proprietary data source.

We don't guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of the underlying data. School staffing, programs, leadership, and performance can change after the data was published, and the CDE occasionally publishes corrections.

SweetSpot does not provide educational, legal, real estate, or financial advice. Before making enrollment, transfer, or relocation decisions, visit the schools, talk to administrators and current families, and do your own research.

SweetSpot and its creator are not liable for any decisions made based on information provided by the tool — including but not limited to enrollment, transfer, or property purchase decisions. The site is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind.

Fit scores are generated by an algorithm that weights publicly available data against the priorities you select. It is not a standardized or peer-reviewed assessment, and different priority weightings will produce different scores for the same school. The full anchor curves are published on the scoring page.

SweetSpot offers a one-time $5 unlock that opens up the full statewide dataset. Payments are processed by Gumroad and are subject to Gumroad's terms of service. SweetSpot does not see, store, or have access to your card details.

Refunds: if the unlock didn't deliver what you expected, email froehlich.jeff@gmail.com within 30 days of purchase and we'll refund you. No questions, no forms.

During beta, a free unlock key (free) is honored in lieu of payment. We may retire the beta key at any time without notice.

The SweetSpot name, scoring algorithm, anchor curves, and site design are the property of the creator. The underlying CDE data is in the public domain; SweetSpot's scoring of that data is not. You may not scrape, reproduce, or redistribute SweetSpot scores or precomputed datasets without written permission.

Linking to sweetspotschools.com pages is welcome and encouraged.

Don't hammer the site with automated requests, attempt to circumvent the unlock, or use SweetSpot to harass schools, staff, or families. We reserve the right to block traffic or accounts that abuse the service.

SweetSpot may modify these terms at any time. The “last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the site after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-laws provisions. Any disputes arising from your use of SweetSpot will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in San Diego County, California.
